Zero km by bike. Yum! Un jour de repose and we decide to stay at Michael and Rosa's place (a lovely and grand converted farm with pool and stunning 30km views across valleys).
views from Montgrieux
Get lift to Domme to the cliff and wall at the top of the town where I write this.
Good times
Eat in what looks like a "beaten-but-good" café and end up with food that's rather like the hairy crevice of the owner's arse that's constantly on display. I have crap crêpe number 2. Never have a crêpe au Grand Marnier despite what the sign says. Have relaxing afternoon back with Michael Douglas who only annoys me when he starts over-worrying Nixter about her knee.

Rest day. Spent the day at Montgrieux/Domme. Breakfast at 9.30 in the garden by the pool with the other guests.
the best breakfast of the trip
Lee wanted us to speak French among ourselves at the table, which I find quite difficult! Beautiful sunshine/setting. Got a lift into Domme with Rosa. Domme's public toilets were a bit short on toilet paper! Went looking for the bag shop but it has closed down :( In Domme during the hottest part of the day just sat by the trees overlooking the valley.
resting our bottoms at Domme
Had lunch in what looked like a greasy spoon but where the the prices were haute cuisine - café au stinge. Portions were the complete opposite to the other night's blow out - Liz had the smallest crêpe I've ever seen and Mal's one-egg omelette was served with one lettuce leaf! Back to Montgrieux in the afternoon - chatted with Michel who was impeccably hospitable. Had baguettes for tea.
one baguette was not enough
Played Scrabble in the lounge and then went to bed. But of sleepless night - very itchy and dog barking - but still a great place.
Day 9 Domme: The bikes get a rest courtesy of our hosts who drive us into Domme and back - ZERO km/ZERO miles! Yay!!
