Have great conversation (well Nix did) with old couple proprieters and farmers. "Bon route!" Much easier day today with long downhills and gentle uphills. Sunday means all shops are closed save the boulangers. Stock up on two fat loaves then find fantastic alimentation in town of Gennes-sur-Seiche - superbly pretty. Discover that the roads with dashes on one side on the IGN maps can be a bit of a risk as we are forced to turn back when reaching a field of green wheat near a Chateau.
a pretty but wrong turn
In Bouchard café owner who was closed but getting ready for an evening function made us 3 coffees (with biscuits!!) and we had another good conversation. He had moved from Paris and St. Monique - "un grand change". Sun is hot and 2-4 seems hottest.

Mal map reads for last third and we get to St.Clement de la Place by 7pm and without incident. Bruno and Guilleme Brochard are the father and son double team who make stay excellent. The best and only rhubarb flan I've had. Bruno wants to speak English and has brought this 16th Century house for tourists and has now created a restaurant and theatre. Admirable.

Good day of cycling, lovely scenery and villages.
Gennes-sur-Seiche
Chambre d'hote fantastic. Had dinner with Bruno and his son - 5 courses! Would recommend it to anyone. He showed his new restaurant and theatre. Major storm during the night, vibrated the house.
